Car premiums could fall as driving records are put online.

.....will take effect in June, .....to gradually transfer services on to the internet.
Insurers have said many motorists could see premiums fall by up to £15 a year.
At the moment, insurers cannot check licence or traffic offence details when they sell policies, meaning they have to "price in" risk factors.
.... have to take account of the risk that drivers either do not tell the truth about speeding points to get a lower quote, or simply make a mistake.

Not convinced we will see premiums drop. At the moment they have an excuse to not pay out if you have "forgotten" to mention those 3 points thus slightly reducing their exposure.
When that has been taken away from them they will find it more difficult to wriggle out of a claim

I dunno. My car insurance dropped and my sister's went up when the rules changed this year. On the bright side, since they're only storing convictions people will still be able to fib about going on speed awareness courses to the more backwards insurance companies who load the premiums accordingly.
