I saw that watching the qualifying this afternoon. Lorenzo obviously knew what was coming as he ducked (Unintended pun) his head down. Apparently it's not unusual at Phillip Island.
A few years ago in one of the far eastern GPs one of the bikes hit a snake which was ambling across the track.

Because of excessive tyre wear on the resurfaced circuit tomorrows GP will require all teams to have a mandatory pitstop at half distance to change bikes, the first time this has ever been done. Bridgestone cannot guarantee that their tyres will last full race distance, and the Moto 2 event has been shortened.
