Fitting wheels with larger centre bore - Tigger
We're thinking of moving on from the wife's Jazz. Probably to a Yaris.

We have a set of steel winter wheels. I am trying to work out if it would be safe to fit them to the yaris.

The two cars have the same PCD and offset. The Jazz has a centre bore of 56.1, the yaris centre bore is 54.1 (both from this useful website www.wheelfitment.eu/)

The wheels are 14" so may not fit over the calipers. But I can try them easily enough.

How important is the centre bore with a steel wheel?

It is possible to get adaptor rings that fit between the two-try an aftermarker supplier of alloy wheels. They keep these rather than hold wheels with every bore size.

Thanks for the tip. A quick google search found these:

I'm not sure if I need them with steel wheels?

Google spigot rings 54.1 56.1

Most car wheels are spigoted so you should really use a spigot ring to reduce the bore.

My series Land Rover wheels weren't spigoted but the wheel studs were very meaty.

EDIT - I see you got that far!

What stops adaptor rings from moving axially?

In the case of alloys they normally push in flush with the wheel face, there's a rebate in the hole that seems to be a standard depth.

Good point - they probably don't locate in that way with a steel wheel and might even just pop right through.

As you were - get the right size steel wheel.

Probably 638 applied to the steel wheels-don't forget you need the right nuts/bolts.
