Two Muslims were killed in southern Egypt after a dispute over a speed bump with a Christian family spiraled out of control and turned into destructive sectarian riot, reported the state news agency Tuesday.
Local residents of small village in the province of Minya were incensed by the presence of a large speed bump outside the villa of a prominent Coptic Christian lawyer and member of the former ruling party, which has since been dissolved.
The dispute with the house guards turned violent and they opened fire, killing two bystanders and incensing the local community.
A mob then ransacked a cafe owned by the lawyer and several homes of local Christians.

I reckon it's the high temperatures in countries like that which makes the population so excitable.

Yeah, like Northern Ireland.

There's a local belief in 'the Biggleswade syndrome'.
When an old-style mental hospital opened, it took many patients from London way. Their families followed and took social housing to be near their family patient. With some of these families it was a close run thing as to which side of the wall of the hospital they'd end up. While visiting family members inside the hospital they'd come into contact with other families in a similar situation and inter-breed...............................................

Don't blame the rioters. I would riot if some rich twerp damaged the road in front of their house to slow the traffic down. Indeed I often riot when the local authority does the same thing.
On more important matters, it looks as if the media are at last starting reluctantly to admit that the Morsi supporters are a minority, who have been forced to raise their numbers in the demos by shipping in women and children from their rural, illiterate support base.
The army, denounced by the Morsi prats and many of the media as brutal, murderous etc., seems content to surround the demos and allow people to leave, but not come back. With luck, fingers crossed, the promised bloodshed won't happen, and the Islamist minority will shut up and go home.

It's the lack of alcohol in Egypt wot does it.
And the belief that anyone not like them is a dog and worthy of death. See also Orange/Republican attitudes.
OAPs are just gaga...

It's not clear to me who wanted the speed bump, and who was rioting a) because they wanted it or b) because they didn't want it.
In Britain everybody wants speed bumps apart from motorists and people living next to a bump.
