On a more serious note they were incredibly lucky, hope they have the sense to realise it.

Looking at the picture, I wonder if it actually landed nose first and toppled over. Not that that would have been any less scary for the occupants.

Looks like a BMW E46 cabrio.

I remember seeing pictures some years back of a Mercedes SL (the soft top one) that crashed and flipped over several times on an autobahn at an estimated 250km/h. The occupants also survived pretty much unscathed. Didn't manage to find the piccies with a quick Google. Did find this though. Posted on the other side 2 or 3 years ago. Driver also walked away.

Saying 9 metres would have been sufficient. There was no need for them to use a calculator to do the conversion.
