Mine (Co-operative) is tenth, so I'm happy I made a good choice.

NFU as expected get the top slot, however i can't justify the price any more, more than twice what we now pay to Admiral...who i see don't feature in the top 40 unless (under the parent company name), must be bad hope we don't need to make a claim..;)

Might go AXA for car ins this year (have home cover with them), sure i read somewhere that they (alone?) are kicking back at the whiplash con, and about time too.

LV failed even to be capable of taking our premium, Heaven help anyone wishing to make a claim.

Ha ha. The Alfa is with Swiftcover (39/40) :-)

In terms of set up, it was fast and completely painless. Everything done online.

Everything is done via a very easy to use "portal" on their site where I can manage the policy, add drivers, edit cover levels etc (obviously for a fee). Nice simple checklist down one side which gets ticked off as payment received, proof of no claims confirmed etc. In the Documents area sit PDF copies of all policy documents which I can download or print at my convenience.

Not a single physical document has changed hands. I paid online, sent my proof of NCB as a scan via e-mail,and all docs online as mentioned. They confirm each step via the checklist on the portal, and also with e-mail.

Hopefully won't have to test the claim side. Loving it so far though. Super-efficient.

If you look at the percentages from the 8th position downwards, there actually isn't a lot in it.

Found this in their 2012 annual report

The Group’s core business is selling and underwriting private car insurance in the UK through four brands – Admiral, Bell, Diamond and elephant.co.uk

If you goto their website - www.admiralgroup.co.uk/index.php it lists all the insurance companies linked to it along the top of the website.

only one of which feature and that at last place...ooer missus.

Adelaide get mentioned regularly on the main lorry drivers forum, supposed to look on HGV and PSV drivers favourably, which for some reason most insurers don't.

Both SWMBO and I are with LV and we are both very happy with them..... maybe not the cheapest but its not the price you pay but the service you get when in trouble that counts.

I was especially pleased with the service I got when my previous Honda Accord was damaged by floodwater... a very fair settlement and really helpful......and it looks like a lot of other people are satisfied with them as well....

When we were doing the tractor thing we were with NFU and they were both unusual and excellent. Now with LV and so far so good.

That's not the "top 40" by the way, it's the 40 that were in the survey. Not quite the same thing.
