"A1 Great North Road in Roxton partially blocked and queueing traffic northbound at Black Cat Roundabout, because of a shed load of potatoes."

A lot of potatoes, then, whichever way you look at it.

There's a Renault Dauphinoise joke trying to form but I can't quite grab hold of it.

The driver may not have had his chips, but he could be in for a roasting. He probably got a starchy response too, when he rang that one in.

Not just vehicular traffic inconvenienced, apparently there there was some disquiet from Walkers. Quite a Smash it's said. Lot of people waffling on about it anyway.

The lorry shed its load as it turned crisply round the roundabout.
Police say it was an accident - there was no weevil intent involved.
However, people's journey home tonight had been blighted.
The lorry is still on its side, but police are trying to jacket up.
