 Cost of runflats v normal tyres? - Auntie Lockbrakes
Can anyone tell me if runflat tyres cost significantly more than "normal" tyres? And do they wear at the same rate as normal tyres, assuming identical driving conditions?

Am sizing up the cost differential of switching from 18 inch regular tyres on an older X3 to the 17 inch runflats on the new model...

From experience the smaller diameters will be quite a bit cheaper.......

A friend has a sporty 3 series with run flat rubber bands. Horrible crashy ride which sounds like he is losing a whole wheel on every pot hole. He often finds his tracking is out, the tyre shoulders wear unevenly and often cracks and other damage is discovered in the stiffened tyre walls. If he could get away with using nice big fat air filled tyres he would.

dont know about the cost (company car) but the wear rayte has been fine on my 17 inch runflats.
Dont know if others have found this but I have had two punctures in two years on them, first ones for about 8 or 9 years
