Toyota is recalling 4,947 cars in Britain due to the discovery of a brake glitch.
The models affected by the Toyota recall include Prius cars manufactured between March and October 2009 and Lexus HS 250h cars manufactured between June and October 2009.
The Japanese manufacturer said a part used in the electronic braking system may not be strong enough and could crack.

Any reason why you haven't mentioned the other recent recalls?
Kia - Soul, Sorento, Sportage, Optima, Carens, Sedona & Sorento - Brake lights may misfunction
Mercedes - A Class - airbag may not perform correctly
Maserati - Quattroporte and Granturismo - loss of vehicle control
VW Group - Up! Mii Citigo - side airbag diagnostic function disabled
etc., etc.

>> Any reason why you haven't mentioned the other recent recalls?
Because I hadn't seen any newspaper/online news website reports mentioning them.
(and my crystal ball is broken)
Any reason why you hadn't mentioned them either until now?

Try the Vosa website - 7,027 entries since January 1992

>> Maserati - Quattroporte and Granturismo - loss of vehicle control
That would be due to driver error normally. Do you mean the elaborate driver aids to protect idiot drivers stop working lancara?

Lancara, just to keep the balance, VW Australia are announcing a big recall (of sorts) to address power loss issues, mostly (but not wholely) with DSG gearboxes.

Not strictly the case....
One of the local media companies is running something of a witch hunt against VW for power loss following an ongoing inquest into the death of a Melbourne woman who it is claimed suddenly slowed down in a 2007 Golf V and was rear ended by a truck, the truck driver claims there were no brake lights. It will be interesting to see what transpires.
The car was a manual and there is no evidence in the public domain that it suffered any fault, it's all conjecture, what makes it worse is that the media outlet's reporting conflates DSG problems, diesel engines entering limp-home mode and petrol car problems as-if they were the same thing.
VW have now offered to check any owner's car who wishes it. In terms of the DSG - it's (supposedly) a different box in the German built Australian models to that which was recalled in China (for locally built models) and its problems (and probable resolution via software) are well documented.
There is no recall by VW (yet), the same media outlet is smarting over the demise of the Australian car industry. Toyotas are built locally and considered to be a local manufacturer, any recall announced by them isn't making the news.
