What happens to demo cars? - Rudedog
Although I've seen this on Top Gear I'm sure it's relevant to other TV shows.

What happens to the cars that are used for the football/rugby matches that usually end up with most of them being bent/broken by the end?

Are they repaired and sold on or written-off as good publicity by the supplying manufactures?

I'd guess written off / stripped for parts.

In addition to the damage sustained in the fun, I'll bet that they're fiddled with beforehand too. At the very least you'd want to disable the ESP system, rip out the airbags (don't want those going off) and fit a proper seat and multipoint harness. Possibly a roll cage too.

There are companies that buy these cars(and manufacturers' prototypes/development vehicles) and then strip them down and sell anything useful and scrap the rest.
