This guy plugged his Nexus tablet into his car's diagnostic port to create an alternative dashboard:

Could be a cheap solution in the event of manufacturers speedo display failing!

if you had a 17" laptop on top of the dashboard, the drivers field of vision would be about the same as a tank commander:)

I've seen a few foreign lorries with that arrangement - very good for large-scale mapping / navigation. And probably with a DVD playing in another tab...
