Man dubbed "the luckiest dude in Russia” - VxFan
A Russian man made a miraculous escape from a huge traffic accident which saw five vehicles smashed in a petrol station.

Caught on video, the incident occurred as a bus carrying 30 people was forced to sharply swerve across a highway to avoid a turning lorry – causing both vehicles to crash into a petrol station in Orenburg, Russia. The collision sees three other vehicles smashed into, while a driver on the forecourt is lucky to remain alive as the truck ploughs into a van just millimetres away from him.

What does the bus driver shout a couple of times as everything narrows down to a point with terrifying speed? Sounds like 'Oblyat! Oblyat!'

I suspect it's the f word in Russian. Wouldn't surprise me at all. I will ask the next Slavophone I talk to.

I would expect the culprit driver of the lorry to have sustained serious injury. The corner of the cab where he would have been sitting was hit extremely hard from behind and moved a long way forward.

On page 6 of the youtube comments, it's "Blad" which apparantely is a common Russian swearword. Literally means - whore. The most suitable English equivalent for this particular case is the F word.

Oh blad, oh blad, oh blad.

Vodka fuelled, no doubt.
I thought our man shouted Nyet, nyet...Russky for No,No ?

I studied Russian at grammar school...I can still write ' Manchester ' in the lingo. The rest of the Russian lessons were spent chewing up pieces of paper and tossing it up to stick on the ceiling......ah ! The pleasure of a mis-spent youth !

No one has mentioned it yet.

There's a guy in the back of the pick up truck, who flies out the back of it moments after impact. Looks like he came off the worst.

A bit difficult to be sure, but the bus driver didn't seem very quick on the uptake.

The Russian clip linked me to a few more spectacular smashes. One was between a Lada and something more modern.

The Russkys seem to have a different attitude to life and death . A man and a woman were lying on the tarmac, quite dead but uncovered while the rescue guys were cutting the roof off the Lada to gain access to someone on the back seat...presumably alive.... as they were ignoring the driver, still in his seat but also dead. They were pushing the back of the seat to gain a little more space with the result that the poor guy was being forced into the dash and screen.

All this was before an audience of 30 or so passers-by six feet away behind the armco. The other unusual sight was a small, elderly woman in coat and headscarf carrying her shopping through the wreckage and stepping over the bodies as if she hadn't seen anything !

All that would have been screened off in the West.
