 Ken Block's Gymkhana 5 - DP
In this latest instalment of his Gymkhana series, Ken Block tears up San Francisco in his 650hp WRC Ford Fiesta HFHV.

Epic cinematography, and some awe inspiring driving. I would love to have a tenth of this skill.

Enjoy. :-)

wow that backwards drift into the gate and out again at the corner of California and Battery is stunning.

The bit were he got airborne sideways, landed and drove off impressed me. Normally surefire way of ending up on roof :(

He hits something at 6.24.

And I wonder how many shoots (and cars!) this took, given the rubber tracks already on the road.

I would imagine this involves at the very least, multiple rehearsals, if not multiple shots.

That Fiesta is brilliant, though. The way it just lights up all four tyres on bone dry tarmac and catapults off in a new direction is superb to watch. It's still a 2.0 four pot under the bonnet as well! :-)

Either that or he does a wheel change part way through, The front ones change colour.

I like the figures for that Fiesta - 650bhp, 0-60 in 1.8s! (about 20s in)

The logistics of that film amaze me almost as much as the (incredible) driving - when was it done? If it was very early in the morning to reduce traffic disruption and spectators, did the residents mind being woken up by the racket? If it was during the day, how did they get permission to close the roads and pavements?

>>how did they get permission to close the roads and pavements?

It's all computer generated, Focus.

hence, no spectators...may have well done it on an xbox
