Renault Megane 5 door hatch, 2000 X reg, 80K miles, silver, history, all straight etc, I think it was the top model back in the day with a/c, cl, ew, alloys etc.
What do you think it's worth in todays market for a private sale?

If diesel £995
If petrol £695

Bit hot those prices IMHO.
Petrol £550 max
Diesel is about on the money, bit high bit it will probably fly.

Yeah, but its a Renault, so don't imagine much of that still works

It's a 1.6 petrol btw.
They bought it as an ex-demo. It had a new a/c compressor soon after they got it under warranty, and apart from coil packs every couple of years, it's been surprisingly trouble free. I think it was before all the really fancy can-bus stuff came on the scene. Although my dad has reported that there's a clicking from the dash every time it's started, but that's just broken gears on the recirc flap.

Having recently got rid of the very same (actually slightly lower miles), I can say that trade price was £300 six months ago. Realistic private sale - maybe £500?

My wife sold her 51 1.6 auto Fidji in metallic silver. Good condition, full mot, full history and 65k miles for £850 with an ad in Tesco end of last year.
Hope that helps.

Outside the cloistered world of motoring forums Meganes are popular with buyers.
A tidy one will always sell.

They deserve to, on the whole the Mk1 megane was not a bad little car.

Of course - "Every little helps" :-)
Seriously though, your missus did OK there.
