I came across this on the Hyundai i30 forum. I think it is general info and not make specific.

Not a chance, I am glad that by the time I am due a car change my mileage will have dropped to the point where petrol is the best option. Maybe even a Fiesta with one of these new Ford lawnmower engines, but a three litre monster sounds better at the moment. :-)

I've only read about a third of that but it's a pretty good description of the Outlander with the 4N14 Mitsubishi MIVEC diesel engine. Mine regenerates about every 300 miles (the instantaneous fuel consumption readout increases), it lasts about 15 minutes. The service interval is 9000 miles compared with 12500 for the PSA engined versions. The oil level increases between services. The exhaust gets very hot during the regen process - I got some tar on the back box (well downstream of the DPF) and the resultant burning smell is very strong if you get out of the car when it's been regenerating.
