I have heard that the Tesco driver died, sadly.

The two bulker drivers are known to us; talk in our office tonight was that they were coming down Pengawse Hill, and the Tesco lorry veered across the carriageway towards them. Since he would have negotiated a roundabout less than half a mile earlier, it would seem doubtful that he fell asleep at the wheel; the hill is steep but fairly straight, with an overtaking lane uphill, protected by double whites on the single-lane down side.

One bulker swerved into the verge to avoid, and the other one following him ran into his rear.

I am wary of guessing, but the money was on the Tesco driver either distracted by texting or phone, or he was taken suddenly ill.

I'll post more detail as I get it.
