The heater on my Volvo 360 started blowing constantly hot over the weekend, regardless of what setting I had put the controls to. So it's blowing hot even when on the cold setting, and also with the aircon on.
Obviously there's a fault somewhere, what would the triage approach be on diagnosing a problem like this? Where would I look first, starting with the simplest possible explanation?

From memory the hot / cold slider was quite stiff, so guessing it's a cable connected from there to the mixing flap. Take the panel out and trace to both ends?
If it's not cable operated then i'd check resistance of the rheostat behind the hot / cold slider across it's range.
Then i'd be out of ideas and probably post on here :-)
