Hi All,

Just wondering if this is a known problem.

Just had a call from my younger brother who is having a problem with his Corsa. I think I have the right model in the header.....

From what I can tell the engine has started taking longer to warm up and when warm the engine temp gauge goes up to normal level when accelerating, but dropping right back down when he brakes and slows. In addition to this the temp on the interior fan rises and falls accordingly.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to where to look first?

Engine thermostat gone faulty - ie, stuck open would be my diagnosis.

Thermostat would be first as suggested.I have also seen water pump problems on these where the plastic impellor detaches from the pump shaft ,so the coolant flow becomes erratic.hth

Thanks for the suggesrtions. I will relay them back to him. I did mention to him it may be a problem with a sticking thermostat, but nice to get others to suggest it too. Maybe I'm not as thick as I make out ;-)
