Been a long while but I've missed this place!! Hello again guys.
Now driving a 2008 Chrysler Sebring 2.0 Diesel (VW engine) - one recurring oddity that I need help / advice with - sometimes I just lose power! I think it's throttle / sensor related as all hoses secure, all belts tight, just been serviced, but without warning she just 'bumbles' along at 30 or 40. Can pick up a little if I go downhill, but pulling out at junctions / roundabouts is terrifying! Pushing the accelerator just seems to do nothing!
Switch off and restart - all is fine! And I only ever use Shell Nitro V Power Snake Oil in her.....
Can anyone help? Thanks!!

My immediate though is Turbo, sticking variable vanes. Have you had the fault codes read?
|
As Zero says, get the codes read.
Sounds like gearbox limp home to me.

Hmmm, will any fault codes show if it's behaving 'normally'? No engine management light on. Does feel like 'limp home' kind of behaviour though. I often think there's a lack of 'punch' when the turbo should kick in....
But thanks for the advice guys, I do need something to go on - it's got me stumped!

Cheers guys, that's given me something to go on. Never thought of coked up turbo vanes, wondering if I should sling a bottle of Archoil into a full tank and blast it out!
