Toyota - 14 1.4 Yaris Service indicator. - Old Navy
Having been reset during a recent service my indicator (yellow spanner) came on. It is triggered by distance, time, or the high and low level oil sensors or the oil quality (diesel contamination) sensor. The book says take it to a dealer, blah, blah. But also tells how to reset it.

I knew that the oil had been slightly overfilled at the service and the light came on after using a steep spiral up and down ramp at a car park. I used my oil extractor to remove half a litre of oil reducing the level to just below full, it seems to have resolved the problem. The car had not used or gained any oil before the service.

There have been several cases of repeated returns to dealers with this problem in Yaris forums, hope this helps other diesel Yaris owners.

After almost two months the oil level has not changed, the service indicator has not come on, it looks like the oil overfill was the problem.
