This is my second C3, that has displayed the warning light, with the message "antipolution system faulty". The current car is a 1.4 petrol, with 29k miles on the clock.
My local diagnostic dealer checked the message, which showed code 1. "Measurement for permanent camshaft fault position. Loss of camshaft signal, while engine running." He said that he had reset ECU to the default position and had done a road test at different speeds.
2 starts later, the light has come on again. Any suggestions ?

A few possible faults.Either the camshaft sensor is faulty,a problem with the wiring from the sensor back to the engine ecu,or there is an issue with the mechanical rotational stator on the camshaft sprocket.Further investigation needed.

Thanks for the info.

You were spot on with your advice, the problem was a camshaft sensor. Cost to replace was £35 for the sensor and £55 for diagnostic and repair. Thanks carmalade for your help. Anyone else with a AP warning light showing, don't muck about and go to a garage with diagnostic equipment.>
