Nissan Micra - 99 1.0 Hazard Warning Switch - Addicknut
Hi, wondering if anyone can help. My hazard light switch stays pressed in. The only way to turn off the hazard lights is to put a flat head srew driver begind the switch and gentle prise it out.

How do I remove the switch without having to remove the complete facia? I have tried to prise out the switch but don't want to apply too much force in fear of breaking something. I thought I could get access to the switch from behind by removing the heater control panel, but this doesn't come out and can only be pushed back into the facia. However, this doesn't allow enough room for my fat fingers to get in and get behind the switch.

Any help would be very much appreciated as this issue is causing my Mica to fail its MOT!

Try spraying some silicone furniture polish into the switch assembly. It might free it it up and stop it sticking

It comes out with the hrw switch panel complete.Prise out carefully from the front.

Thank you for replying. I will first try the furniture polish as suggested by Zero, but if this doesn't work I now know how to remove it. Thanks.

Thank you for replying. I did try WD40 without success but will try furniture polish.

If you don't have silicone furniture polish you can get silicone spray from the likes of Halfords tinyurl.com/lz2rojt

WD40 now make a spray with silicones in it after all these years!

Thanks for all your replies.

Just to let you know that the silicone suggested wasn't successful.

In the end I managed to prise the switch out with a small screw driver. The switch is independent of the HRW switch so comes out on its own.

Got a replacement from the local breakers for £8 as opposed to paying Nissan £40!

Didn't see this thread in time...

My suggestion would have been to go to the nearest breakers for a switch and figure out how to extract it from the scrap car first, where it doesn't matter...

Glad you've got it sorted.
