 SEAT Alhambra - 02 1.9 Glow plug light illuminates when driving - bathtub tom
1.9 TDI PD
My niece called me and said the glow plug light came on for about five minutes and then went off again while she was driving along - she can't find the handbook.

I've absolutely no knowledge of this engine and could only guess at a DPF regeneration cycle perhaps.

Any suggestions please?

This one has no DPF. It will need the codes read, as it indicates an issue - could be anything

Turbo, sensor, fuel system.

A faulty brake light switch is a common failing on these and can cause the glow/mil light to illuminate.hth

Failed brake light bulbs bring this light on on these cars. Mine gave me a bad attack of the willys for just that reason. There will be an intermittent contact on the remaining bulb hence the light being on and off

Shhh! Diesel Skodas crop up cheap on ebay with this problem, because the owners don't know what it is ;-)
