 BMW 3-Series E90 - 08 3.0 Undefined warning message. - R.P.
Not a warning light one on the computer's MFS. Sort of a multi legged lightening shaped symbol lights up once in a while. Lights up in amber with the letter R on one of the legs. Nawt in the manual. Any ideas ?

Does it resemble a light bulb?

"R" as in a rear bulb failure?

No it has got a separate pictogram for that - It's only come on a couple of times, not at all today...

Looks like one of either the "Engine speed too high, change up now" or "Engine speed too low, change down now" warnings, depending on which way the arrow is pointing.

See the PDF attached here: www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=356322. Do either of those (about 2/3 of the way through) look like it?

Presumably either the "R" stands for "Revolutions", or that's some sort of ham-fisted attempt to depict the gearshift gate in the icon and it's "Reverse".

It's at least one too many and could/should be replaced by a slapping mechanism in the headrest... :-)
