<description>Today I noticed for the first time that I have been subjected to "emissions-based charging"
when parking my car. It was a "PayByPhone" app
I already pay a very large " road tax " based on emission so i am not best pleased.

Are there other well know places that also sur charge for parking like this ?

The ease of using this app was one of the reasons for getting a "smart" phone.
Today was the first time I used it when I was not in a hurry and saw a message flash up.

It has my cc details and has my registration and the road/area where i always park so it
is quick to use.

The only reference I can see in the "Guide to parking in Hounslow" is
The terminals accommodate: emissions-based charging.

No mention of it in my receipt on my phone but 15 p for SMS reminder fee and another
15p SMS confirmation fee.

I do not think this is a really honest user friendly statement of things.
