Because my MB dealer is pretty reasonable for servicing I’d had it done there before the trip, and that gave me 12 month Mercedes European breakdown cover. Now, as it turned out I didn’t need it, but I can still remember the very pleasant weekend I spent in Beaune at Mercedes expense when my E class convertible suffered a puncture that couldn’t be fixed over a holiday weekend:) The caveat being I am sure they would recover to a a Mercedes main dealer in the first instance. It also includes travel insurance - sometimes extra for pre existing conditions, but no age limit. It also gives us mobile phone insurance - which we have used in the past. Total joint cost is £18 / month. My last Green Flag policy inc full EU cover, and extended period in EU, was £85.
