I had difficulty judging a price, so put it on Gumtree at a speculative high price to 'test the water'. No idea what a fair price is but I'd try it on Gumtree for a couple of weeks. Yes you may get some stupid offers made unseen, but you may also get a genuine buyer looking for a family car for the upcoming holidays. I've used both Gumtree and eBay to sell two cars in the last year or so. Gumtree worked for both. As for insurance, that's for the potential buyer to sort out. No insurance, no drive. You can take them out on a route of their choosing if you think they are serious. Just one other observation. Sold F-I-L's Boxster S to a genuine chap from 300 miles away a few months ago via Auto Trader. I've had good results with Motorway, albeit five years ago.
