Some weeks later I received a £60 penalty notice and, to be honest, I am not sure if I did enter my reg or perhaps entered it wrongly. Anyway, I appealed on line and submitted a copy of my receipt, and suggested that if they checked their records they would see that I was a regular user. The "greeter" never explained the small tablet that you logged into. Not a requirement, but as a courtesy to the customer. I got a penalty charge. The local news here reported that customers were being hammered at the local OK diner in Flintshire was handing out tickets like conffeti. Mrs Z got a parking charge notice for using the carpark at her quackery which had recently moved in to shared NHS offices. Apparently you have to enter your vehicle registration number on a touch screen device once in the quackery. Thing is, she was just dropping off her non-driving mother who has no idea about parking issues and who didn't notice the screen or instructions and there were no signs or instructions around the carpark. Mrs Z appealed the charge and was told that there are lots of signs - there are now - but weren't when she parked, and the appeal was rejected.
