Thankfully I managed to beat my son. The RAC Club always has a 'rather special' car on display in the entrance hall. Yesterday it was a 1956 Mercedes Benz 300 Cabriolet with the same engine as the legendary 300 Gull Wing. Only 49 of these cabriolets were made and this example was still owned by the original buyer, after 70 years!
