3x recently I’ve been doing recce walks in the eastern Lake District fells…primarily off the A6 North of Kendal.
A 17 mile circular last Wednesday I met 5 other walkers ( 4 of them had walked up Borrowdale from Tebay) and early evening two fell runners on the tops.
Week before on an 18 miler I met two walkers.
I avoid the central LD at all costs in summer…the tops either side of the Mallerstang valley, outside the Lakes, has been my favourite for many years if you want great views and a feeling of remoteness without the crowds.
