 Word of the day - martin aston
The classic source of Doric humour were the trio who performed the “Scotland the What?” sketch shows. There are quite a few on YouTube. Some have aged better than others but “the Ballater Toyshop” is a good introduction to the dialect, words and humour.
If he is old enough your colleague will no doubt know of these.
